At Datellite, we are proud to collaborate with Queensland University of Technology (QUT) on a cutting-edge research project exploring how Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LPWAN) can be integrated with satellite backhaul to deliver reliable, scalable connectivity for the Internet of Things (IoT).

IoT devices are growing rapidly across industries,  from agriculture and mining to healthcare and logistics. Yet many of these devices are deployed in remote or rural locations where traditional connectivity is unreliable or unavailable. Our project tackles this challenge by combining LPWAN technology, which is energy-efficient and cost-effective, with satellite backhaul, which provides global coverage.

Why It Matters
  1. Bridging the connectivity gap: This research aims to connect IoT devices in areas beyond the reach of terrestrial networks.
  2. Supporting critical industries: From monitoring crops and livestock to enabling smart supply chains, the outcomes of this project will benefit industries that rely on remote operations.
  3. Advancing secure IoT: With our cybersecurity expertise, we are ensuring that connectivity solutions remain secure, resilient, and compliant with emerging standards.
